Balochistan has first right on Gwadar: APC declaration
Hailing the CPEC project, the APC demanded that the old route must not be changed
QUETTA: (Dunya News) – All Parties Conference (APC) in Balochistan has on Saturday declared that Balochsitan has the first right on the resources of Balochistan including Gwadar. Hailing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), APC demanded that the old route must not be changed, reported Dunya News.
Gwadar-Kashghar route is the focus of political and religious parties nowadays. While the economic experts have termed it as a revolutionary project, the political and religious parties, along with the coalition government of Balochistan, have expressed certain concerns regarding it.
Addressing the APC organized by the Awami National Party (ANP), Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah stressed on resolving the issue with negotiations while ANP head Asfand Yar Wali Khan said that the ANP had no issues with the CPEC but the project should benefit Balochistan the most.
Parties belonging to ruling coalition including National Party, Pashtunkhawa Mulli Awami Party (PK-MAP) and religio-political parties also attended the conference. However, no representation of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) was observed in the APC.
