Punjab government has once again written a letter to IRSA to release its share of water for Chashma Jhehlum Link Canal. It is written in the letter that rivers are full of water this time, so Punjab should be provided water for Chashma Jhehlum Link Canal. It is said in the letter that water is being taken from Mangla Dam at the site of Treimon which can create shortage of water in the dam. IRSA chairman resigns Indus River System Authority (IRSA) chairman Amaan Gul Khatak has resigned and appointed Punjabs Shafqat Mehmood as acting chairman of the authority. According to sources, Khatak tendered his resignation due to row over water among provinces. He belongs from Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa. He was appointed as IRSA chairman on November 17, 2009.
