Atleast eight hours loadshedding in urban and 10 hours in rural areas is being carried out.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Electricity shortfall has reached to 4400 megawatt with atleast eight hours loadshedding in urban and 10 hours in rural areas, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

According to NTDC sources, the overall demand of electricity is 14,800 megawatt whereas the production is 10,400 megawatt.

With the decrease in temperature in central and upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), a slight decline has occurred in the demand of electricity due to which the shortfall has also declined, however; the areas where the power usage is more face tripping and are undergoing continuous unannounced loadshedding.

Authorities are of the view that till the present condition of the weather the duration of the power outage is likely to remain until the current level.
