Summary Interior Minister criticized FIA, says will request closing down FIA if performance doesn't improve
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) - Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Thursday said that Director General (DG) Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) should tender his resignation if he is unable to catch the bog fish. He said that he will request closing down the FIA if its performance doesn’t improve, reported Dunya News.
In an important meeting on FIA performance, headed by Chaudhry Nisar, Interior Minister scolded the DG FIA and warned him that he must improve performance or resign. “No headways have been made in any of the big corruption cases. Close down the institution if you can’t improve performance”, said Nisar.
“FIA is no more a political machine. I am not even told and investigations are altered. We have to answer about all this to Allah as well”, Nisar said. He said that FIA should be a symbol of security for the common people and a symbol of fear for the looters. “Corrupt get bails and are at large. This drama must end now. I will personally request the government to close the institution down if the things continue to remain the same”, said the Interior Minister.
