Summary The process of appeals to review and clemency appeals will complete in six months
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federation on Tuesday has appealed the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) to revoke the verdict of halting executions of terrorists.
According to the plea submitted, the federal government maintains that the terrorists sentenced to death by the military courts reserve the right of clemency appeal. The process of appeal to review and clemency appeal will complete in six months.
The plea states that the verdict over establishment of military courts and the 21st Constitutional Amendment is yet to be given. It is still to be decided whether the SCP has the right to interfere in the Parliament. The petition urges the court to revoke the injunction of halt to executions.
The criminals sentenced to death are not related to the Supreme Court Bar. The plea states that the SCP Bar is neither the party in the matter nor is affected by the verdict. The federation urges the SCP to discard Supreme Court Bar’s petition and retract from its verdict.
