17 death row prisoners hanged in various cities

Seventeen more death row prisoners were hanged in different jails of the country on Tuesday morning.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least 17 death row convicts have been sent to the gallows in different jails of the country on early Tuesday morning, Dunya News reported.

Three death row prisoners were hanged in Faisalabad. According to details, death sentence prisoner Nizam Din had killed a man in 1998 while Muhammad Hussain was guilty of killing his opponent. Another prisoner Muhammad Azam was guilty of killing seven members of his in-laws family.

Three prisoners were hanged in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. Those who were executed included Raja Raees, Shakeel and Sarfaraz.

Three more death row prisoners were executed in Gujranawala. Death sentence prisoner Anayat Ullah was guilty of killing seven members of the same family in 2002 over a land dispute. Prisoners Zafar Iqbal and Latif were guilty of killing four persons, including a woman, in 1995.

Two death row convicts, Ghulam Nabi and Allah Rakha were hanged in Lahore. Ghulam Nabi, resident of Sabzazar was guilty of killing a man in Muzand area of Lahore while Allah Rakha of Kassur had killed a man in Mustafabad area.

Death row prisoner Azhar Mahmood was hanged in District Jail Gujrat. Azhar had killed his opponent Shan in 1995. Another prisoner was executed in Sahiwal Central Jail.

Sultan alias Raja was hanged in Multan. Sultan was guilty of killing his opponent in 2002. Another death row convict was executed in Macch. Prisoner Riaz Ahmad had killed Taj Muhammad during a robbery attempt in 2004.
