Summary SICP deputy secretary was accused of allegedly aiding criminals.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Anjuman Naujwanan-i-Islam (ANI) chief and Sunni Ittehad Council Pakistan’s (SICP) deputy secretary Tariq Mehboob’s died of cardiac arrest in Karachi’s Central Jail today (Saturday), Dunya News reported.
His body has been handed over to his relatives after autopsy at Jinnah Hospital whereas the chemical report will come after seven days.
According to the Rangers’ spokesperson, the suspect was arrested for aiding criminals whereas his case was under hearing in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and joint investigation of police and Rangers was to be held.
He also said that Mehboob was shifted to the Central Jail by the Rangers where his death occurred.
Earlier, ANI chief was arrested on April 16 by the Rangers personnel and was presented before the ATC which remanded him in Rangers custody for 90 days.
