KARACHI (Dunya News) – Anjuman Naujwanan-i-Islam (ANI) chief and Sunni Ittehad Council Pakistan’s (SICP’s) deputy secretary Tariq Mehboob died from cardiac arrest during custody in Karachi’s Central Jail today (Saturday), Dunya News reported.
His dead body will be shifted to Jinnah hospital for autopsy after all legal formalities.
According to Rangers’ spokesperson, the suspect was arrested for aiding criminals whereas his case was under hearing in ATC and joint investigation of police and Rangers was to be held.
He also said that Tariq Mehboob was shifted to Central Jail by the Rangers afterwards where his death occurred.
Tariq Mehboob was arrested on April 16 by Rangers officials and was presented before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) which remanded him in Rangers custody for 90 days.
