KARACHI (Dunya News) – Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday sent Karachi Development Authority’s (KDA’s) senior director including four suspects on 90-day remand in land extortion accusations, Dunya News reported.
According to details, KDA senior director land Najamuz Zaman, Reacquire officer Muhammad Ali, Additional Director Muhammad Anwar and Director Reacquiry Abdul Qawi Khan were presented before the court.
The suspects stated that they are innocent and had no link with target killing. They also said that they are officials of 19 and 20 grades and have relation with crime.
The judge remarked that police and rangers have charged them of illegal land extortion therefore interrogation cannot be halted.
Maenwhile, ATC also gave Lyari gang war’s worker Adnan Baloch alias Sir in 90 days physical remand to Rangers.
Earlier, ATC also sent three Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers on seven-day physical remand.
The suspects Nasir Lodhi, Muhammad Ali and Umair were presented before the court amid tight security.
The suspects are booked under the charges of murder attempt, terrorism and police encounter.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nasir Lodhi is MQM’s joint unit incharge of Ranchor Line sector.
Moreover, Sunni Ittehad Council’s leader Tariq Mehboob was also sent on 90-day remand.
