KARACHI (Dunya News) – 5 terrorists and 3 dacoits were killed in encounters by Police and Rangers on Monday. 3 suspects involved in Tahir Plaza tragedy have also been apprehended. Footage of persons involved in suicide bombing on Rangers has also been released, reported Dunya News.

3 persons were shot dead in a hotel in Korangi Number 2.5. Police later claimed that the persons killed were dacoits.

In Aurangi Town Kherabad, personnel of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and terrorists exchanged fire in which 5 terrorists were killed.

According to Director Inspector General (DIG) CTD Arif Hanif the killed terrorists belonged to Al-Qaeda Pakistan. The slain persons include Karachi Commander Noor-ul-Hassan alias Hashmi and deputy commander Usman alias Irfan, he said.

Rangers raided different parts of city and apprehended 3 central suspects involved in tragedy of Tahir Plaza.

According to Rangers’ Spokesperson, the suspects have admitted to spilling chemicals in Tahir Plaza to start a fire on 9 April 2008.
