ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The main accused behind Imran Farooq, the former leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), murder case has been apprehended from Karachi, in a major breakthrough in the case, reported Dunya News on Monday.
Talking to media, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar has announced that the main accused behind Imran Farooq Murder case has been arrested from Karachi.
The Federal Interior Minister declined to name the suspect saying that he will be presented in front of court on Tuesday.
Commenting on the breakthrough, Chaudhary Nisar said Imran Farooq case was not only a test of Scotland Yard but also Pakistan s law-enforcing agencies, adding that the process was hastened by Pakistani intelligence authorities.
Briefing media about the suspect, Federal Interior Minister said that he was involved in sending 2 persons to England in the murder case.
Chaudhary Nisar said that government’s intention is not to take lives but to bring the culprits to justice adding that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), including intelligence authorities, will be formed in a couple of days.
According to sources, Muazzam Ali Khan, who was arrested on Sunday, was involved in sending 2 persons to England in Imran Farooq murder case.
Muazzam Ali Khan not only gave application to England for visas but also facilitated Mohsin Ali and Muhammad Kashif in obtaining the said visas.
According to reports, Muazzam Ali Khan also contacted Iftikhar Hussain in 2010.
