Karachi: 6 including 5 factory workers die after falling in a tank
5 workers and 1 owner died of suffocation, the police said
KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least six persons including five workers died of suffocation after falling off in a tank in a factory at Korangi area of Karachi. The police confirmed the suffocation as cause of death theory.
According to details, at least six persons fell into a tank while working in a pickles factory situated near Korangi Crossing. The police said that when one worker fell into the tank, five others jumped in one by one to rescue but all of them suffocated to death.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Korangi Haseeb Afzal Baig said that anything conclusive can only be said after investigation is completed.
Deputy Commissioner Korangi Asif Jan said that it is being investigated how a factory was operating in a residential area.
Reportedly, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and has formed a committee to probe the incident.
