Rangers to be deployed at NA-246 polling stations
Reportedly, Rangers will be deployed inside and outside of polling stations during vote
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday ordered to deploy Rangers during NA 246 by-election in Karachi, Dunya News reported.
According to Dunya News sources, Rangers will be deployed inside and outside of polling stations during the voting. The Rangers personnel will have the rights of Magistrate and troublemakers will be dealt with strictly.
National Assembly seat NA 246 was vacated by MQM’s dissident politician Nabeel Gabol who resigned after differences with party. PTI has eyed on that seat ever since terming it a high level election since NA 246 constituency has long been regarded as MQM’s strong hold.
Following violent clashes between workers of PTI and MQM, PTI has been demanding deployment of army and Rangers to avoid violent clashes.
