Minimum wages case: SC seeks report from federation, provincial govts

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the federation and provincial governments to submit report over the implementation of laws made for minimum wages, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.

A two-member bench headed byJustice Sheikh Azmat heard the case and directed the administration to execute the plans and remarked that if government cannot utilize its power for its implementation then the officials should change it.

He further affirmed that government is responsible in ensuring the timely payment of wages and accused the labor inspector of taking extortion money while inspection.

Subsequently, the court has adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
