The Lahore High Court threw out two petitions seeking disqualification of Sharif brothers on Thursday. The petitions were filed by Shahid Orakzai, who sought disqualification of Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for committing corruption during Nawazs two stints besides money transference abroad. For Shahbaz Shahrif, Shahid Orakzai has claimed that the PML-N leader and CM Punjab has committed rigging in general elections on PP-Bukkur constituency. The LHC rejected plea against Nawaz on the grounds that it was ineffective as polls on NA-52 and NA-127 have been held, while the petitions against Shahbaz were rejected due to lawyers absence in the proceedings.
