GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) -- “Instead of sending troops to Yemen, Pakistan should play the role of a mediator”, said Ameer Jamat Islami Sirajul Haq while talking to media in Gujranwala on Friday.

Sirajul Haq has started “Rabta” campaign in Gujranwala. On this occasion he said that the security of holy cities of Saudi Arabia is not only the responsibility of Saudi Arabia but the whole Muslim world is responsible for it. He said that the conflict should be ended through dialogue instead of war whereas Pakistan, Turkey and Iran should play the role of mediators.

Talking about the possibility of war in Yemen, he said that war will destroy the gulf states while United States of America (USA) and Israel will be beneficiaries.

“We are starting the new membership drive from Gujranwala and our target is to make 10 million new Jamat Islami members”, said Sirajul Haq. “Those who were ruling the people of Pakistan 65 years ago are still in power while living standard of people has dropped due to poverty.”

Sirajul Haq said that if people want a change, they should vote for Jamat Islami in local body elections. He said that local body elections will be held on party basis in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) on 30th of May, Punjab government should also transfer the power to the grassroots level through local body elections.

Talking about Sindh, he said that they will participate in local body elections of Karachi. While answering a question about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said that PTI members should come back to assemblies as their demand of judicial commission has been accepted.
