Jail authorities receive order for extension in Saulat Mirza’s execution
Machh Jail administration has received a fresh extension order from the presidency.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – Machh Jail authorities have confirmed that they have received the order from presidency regarding one-month extension in convicted target killer Saulat Mirza’s execution, Dunya News reported.
According to notification, the condemned prisoner will be hanged on April 30.
Mirza was sentenced to death in a case pertaining to killing of managing director of then named Karachi Electric Supply Corporation Shahid Hamid, his driver and guard in 1997.
In a video message from death cell on April 18, Saulat Mirza leveled serious allegations against the leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He alleged that he killed former KESC Director Shahid Hamid on the directives of Altaf Hussain.
It is pertinent to mention here that President Mamnoon Hussain has extended Mirza s execution on a summary forwarded by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as the authorities are trying to further investigate the matter.
