LONDON (Dunya News) – Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain lamented over the loss of human lives in bus-truck collision that took place at Khairpur old National Highway today (Wednesday).

Altaf Hussain has expressed condolence with the bereaved families and stated that its a government’s responsibility to protect lives of the nation.

He further demanded the administration to initiate practical steps to stop traffic mishaps and also to probe the incident.

Earlier, at least thirteen people were killed and 20 others injured when a bus collided with a truck in southern Pakistan on Wednesday morning, Dunya News reported.

The accident happened on Mehran Highway near Khairpur district, 450 kilometres (300 miles) north of Karachi, the capital of southern Sindh province.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the bodies and injured to Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences and other hospitals in Khairpur.

As per initial details, the speeding truck loaded with fruits lost control and rammed into a bus coming from opposite direction.
