Summary Maryam Safdar’s car was attacked upon by a mob
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Session Court of Lahore has granted interim bail request of Maryam Safdar, who in an attempt to save her life, ran over 3 people during Youhanabad protests.
According to the Session Court, stance taken up by the defendant Maryam Safdar is that she ran over 3 people in the Youhanabad incident in an act of self defense. According to her, the agitated crowd was threatening her life for which she countered by stepping on the pedal.
The Session Court has directed Maryam Safdar to become part of the investigation.
It should be noted here that on Monday, Maryam Safdar’s car was attacked upon by a mob. In an attempt to get out of the crowd, she ran over 3 people who were initially injured but expired later on.
The police officials escorted the woman out of crowd and into safety.
