Summary Zardari said sanctity of political parties’ offices has to be respected

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former president Asif Ali Zardari has expressed ‘deep regrets’ over raid on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarter Nine-Zero by Rangers, Dunya News reported.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain contacted Zardari over the phone and briefed him about the raid on MQM headquarters and subsequent arrests.

Zardari said that MQM is a major party of the country and that the raid on MQM center is condemnable. He said everyone should respect the sanctity of political parties’ offices.


Raid on MQM offices and subsequent arrests


A heavy contingent of Rangers personnel arrested several suspects during raid on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain s residence and Khursheed Begum Secretariat in Azizabad area of the metropolis.

The Rangers spokesperson further revealed that different kinds of local and imported weapons including Kalashnikovs, shotguns, 9mm pistols, hundreds of bullets and bullet-proof vests were seized during the raid. They believe that some of the weapons might have been stolen from NATO containers.
