Islamabad: Funeral prayer offered for victims of Imambargah attack

Summary Post-mortem of the suicide attackers has also been completed.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya news) – Funeral prayer for victims of the Imambargah suicide attack in Islamabad was offered on Thursday at Expressway. A protest was held before the prayer by the families of those killed in the act of terrorism. Protestors strongly condemned the violent act and demanded that the enemies of peace be brought to justice. Traffic flow remained disrupted on Expressway due to the protest. The case of suicide terrorist attack on Qasr-e-Sakina Imambargah has been registered in the police station of Shahzad Town in Islamabad. The case was registered on complaint of the trustee of Imambargah. Post-mortem of the suicide attackers has also been completed. During a search operation conducted in this regard, 15 suspects were arrested along with a member of a banned organization.


According to the details, suicide attacker’s age was expected to be 25 to 30 years. His height was reported as 5 ft 9 inches. The report of the post mortem has been submitted to the intelligence department.


Police conducted a crackdown after this act of terrorism in Ghauri Town, Shukrial and Qutbal Town areas of Islamabad. A similar crackdown was seen in Rawalpindi as well. Ammunition was confiscated from the suspects. Black day was observed by Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen, Shia Ulema Council and Azdari Council throughout te country against the this event of terrorism.
