Shah Salman bin Abdulaziz suffers from dementia
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Shah Salman bin Abdulaziz on Friday has been crowned the King of Saudi Arabia following the death of late Shah Abdullah.
Shah Salman bin Abdulaziz is the younger brother of the late King. He was born on December 31 1935. He is the 25th son of the founder of Saudi Arabia, Shah Abdulaziz. He got his early education from the school in Riyadh which was established by Shah Abdulaziz exclusively for the princes. He stepped into his practical phase of life on March 17 1954 after he was appointed as the mayor of Saudi Arabia capital Riyadh. However, he resigned from the post in 1960. He assumed charge of Riyadh as its governor on February 4 1963. Meanwhile, he served as a minister in the cabinet. He became the minister for defense in 2011.
Shah Salman has appointed his son Muhammad bin Salman as the new Minister for Defense.
Shah Salman bin Abdulaziz suffers from dementia, a disorder that severely affects memory and can lead to memory loss.
