ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah met in Islamabad on Wednesday for the consultation over the names of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and shortlisted four names including Chief Justice of Federal Shariah Court Sardar Raza, Justice (Retd) Shakirullah Jan, Justice (Retd) Tariq Pervez and Justice (Retd) Mian Muhammad Ajmal.

The chosen name would be sent to the parliamentary committee for final approval. In case no consensus is drawn, three or all four names would be sent to parliamentary committee.

Chief Justice of Federal Shariah Court Sardar Raza would have to give up his post in case his name gets the recommendation.

Khursheed Shah had also contacted Federal Minister Finanace Ishaq Dar for consultation over the names for CEC and Ishaq dar would pursue the consultation with opposition leader after PM Nawaz departs for Britain.

Shah added that he would hold telephonic consultation with the PM after he leaves for Britain.
