Death toll in famine-hit Thar reaches 111 in 53 days
Residents of Thar are still waiting for aid and facilities to prevent further deaths.
THARPARKAR (Dunya News) – At least two infants died on Sunday escalating the death toll to 111 as famine continues to target humanity in Thar.
According to details, 111 deaths have been reported due to Thar famine in 53 days whereas a large number of affectees remain without facilities to deal with the crisis and prevention of further deaths.
The issue of potable water still exists even after a grant of two crores for a population of 15,000 people in Chahchro. Hundreds of wells have dried up and the people do not have access to potable water.
People of Thar got accosted with further trouble with the changing weather conditions while the Chachru administration has brought the supply of wheat to a standstill.
People continue to migrate while residents still await aid.
