A tribal lashkar (militia) has battled Taliban fighters in Kurram Agency, killing 20 militants of Mulla Toofan Group including two key commanders, ahead of a massive tribal gathering on Saturday in Peshawar. On the other hand, at least 9 militants were killed and several others injured in air raids in Orakzai agency. Militants of Mullah Toofan Group started to set on fires houses of people in the agency. National lashkar tried to stop them, on which, clashes erupted between both of them, leaving 20 militants killed. Three members of lashkar were also killed. Five hideouts of the militants were also destroyed in the air strikes at Arghanjo, Dago and Shadla areas of upper Orakzai tribal agency.
