The protest against rise in public transport fares continues for the second consecutive day on Friday in the twin cities. The demonstrators took to roads early morning and blocked Murree Road. Police resorted to baton charge, teargas shelling and aerial firing to disperse the angry protesters.Resultantly, several got injured, while police rounded up around 200 persons for rioting and ransacking public property.The protesters pelted stones at the police making the latter to recede; the situation, however, turns vice versa at times.The angry protesters are burning the tyres and damaging the parked cars to vent out their anger against police and the government.Rangers have been called in to control the worsening situation as the police seemed to be unable to contain the uncontrollable mob.
