Faisalabad Police Station Attack Case: Shoaib Idrees declared accused
MPA fled his house last night before Police raid. 7 suspected informers suspended by Police.
FAISALABAD: (Dunya News) Pakistan Muslim League (N) MPA from Faisalabad Rana Shoaib Idrees has been declared accused by the Police after initial investigation. Rana Shoaib Idrees was accused of being involved in attacking the Police Station in Khurianwala, Faisalabad. Shoaib Idrees has refused to be a part of the investigation unless he gets the bail.
He has been booked under Article 540 for attacking the Police Satation Khurrian, getting accused flee from Police Station, interfering in administrative matter and terrorizing the government officials.
After initial investigation, Police declared him as accused and raided his house last night but the MPA had already fled. 7 police officers were suspended for allegedly leaking the information about raid to Shoaib Idrees prior to the raid.
Initially the Police had not named the MPA and had just mentioned in its report that a ‘political personality’ was involved in getting a murder accused person flee from Police custody. However, after recording the statements of eye-witnesses and the First Investigation Report, Police named Shoaib Idrees as the primary accused in the case.
Three teams have been constituted by the Police for arresting the PMLN’s Member Provincial Assembly. It is pertinent to mention here that Rana Shoaib Idrees was involved previously in torturing a police officer. In February 2013, he was accused of beating up a police officer after breaking into the same police station. Police had registered a case against him under Article 65 at that time. CCTV footage of the said incident is available with the Police but before Police could take an action against him, he got elected as a member of Provincial Assembly.
He again broke into the Police Station on the night between Friday and Saturday to beat up police officials and getting the person charged with murder freed.
The action against him has been taken after orders by the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, Law Minister of Punjab, stated earlier today (Monday) that Punjab Police has been directed to arrest Rana Shoaib Idrees. He also made it clear that Rana Shoaib Idrees will be forced to resign immediately, if found guilty.
