5.1 magnitude quake jolts parts of KPK

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – A moderate earthquake measuring a 5.1 magnitude on Richter scale jolted different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dunya News reported on Friday.

According to the Meteorological Office, tremors were felt in Peshawar, Malakand Agency, Chitral and adjoining areas at 9:14 am.

The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded 5.1 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was 70 kilometer away from Chitral in the Hindu Kush Mountains in Afghanistan with a depth of 73 kilometer. The tremors panicked the residents who immediately came out of their houses, reciting prayers.

No life or property loss has been reported till the filing of this report.
