Summary
Constitutional Reforms Committee has issued draft of amendment for judges appointment. Judicial commission comprising five members led by Chief Justice of Pakistan will send names of judges to Parliamentary Commission. Parliamentary Commission can be able to reject any name with majority. Under the new draft, powers of President to appoint the judges have been transferred to Parliamentary Commission. The commission would be constituted under the supervision of CJP. The commission will comprise on two senior judges of SC, federal law minister, attorney general and senior advocated nominated by Pakistan Bar Council.
