SHO killed as protesters attack police station in Qambar
The enraged mob rushed to police station after a youth was arrested on robbery charges.
Qambar-Shahdadkot (Dunya News) - A Station House Officer (SHO) was killed when an enraged mob attacked a police station here on Monday.
According to details, police had arrested a robbery suspect namely Abdul Jabbar Solangi from wagan area of Qambar.
The heirs of the youth and residents of the area surrounded wagan police station and pelted stones injuring SHO Samandar Khan Chandio and four other policemen. They were rushed to Chandka Medical Hospital where SHO Samandar Khan succumbed to injuries.
Meanwhile, a passerby was killed when police opened retaliatory firing to disperse the protesters.
On the other hand, police contingents from the whole district were called in to control tension in the area.
IG Larkana Aftab Pathan visited hospital and inquired after health of wounded policemen. He said that the investigation would be launched into the incident.
