The water level at Mangla Dam has reached to dead level due to lesser amount water entering the dam.According to Indus River System Authority (IRSA), the useable water level in Mangla stands at 1,040 feet. The water in the reservoir is expected to come to an end today. The water deficit would affect the wheat crops in Punjab. Incoming water rate is 12,537 cusec feet while the water leaving the dam is 16,200 cusec feet.Power generation has also decreased by 900 megawatts due to the water deficit at Mangla. Load shedding duration is expected to increase by four hours due to power deficit as the water level will increase in Mangla reservoir the duration of power outage will be decreased.Due to rain the water level is relatively better in Tarbela and it stands 17 feet above dead level.
