Thousands attend funeral of MQM's deceased workers

CM and IG Sindh formed committees to probe the murders.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The funeral prayer of two of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) deceased workers was offered on Friday and was attended by thousands of persons. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Inspector General (IG) Sindh Iqbal Mehmood formed committees to investigate murders of MQM workers, Dunya News reported.
The funeral prayer of Sameed and Salman was offered at Numaish Chowrangi MA Jinnah Road and was attended by thousands of persons including MQM Raabta Committee’s leaders Dr Maqbool Siddiqui, Dr Farooq Sattar, members of provincial and national assemblies, party officials and workers.
The funeral prayer of deceased Mohammad Sameed and Salman Qureshi was led by Maulana Tanveerul Haq Thanvi. The funeral was attended also by All Karachi Trade Union members.
Following the funeral prayer, Salman Qureshi was laid to rest at Karachi University cemetery and Mohammad Sameed at Shuhuda cemetery Yasin Abad.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Assembly has formed an investigating committee based on four members to probe the murders of MQM workers. Committee comprises of Dr Sikandar Mendro, Sardar Ali Shah, Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Sardar Ahmed.
IG Sindh also formed an investigation committee comprising Additional IG Shahid Hayar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Muneer Sheikh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar, SSP East Investigation and SSP Special Investigation Unit (SIU). There’s no report of any eye-witnesses of the incident yet.
