Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has signed Local Government Amendment Bill 2010. Provincial Minister Kamran Micheal said that DCO would be appointed as administrators in districts while DDOR would be appointed as Administrators in tehsils. Punjab Assembly sent this bill to the governor on February 4 for the approval. Notification of administrators appointment would be issued this evening. Under the bill, Punjab government would be authorized to set up election authority for local government elections.
