Cut in uplift budget caused by war against terror, Hina tells NA

Hina Rabbani Khar informed the National Assembly on Friday that the losses incurred by the war against terrorism and the power subsidy has caused cut in the fiscal uplift budget from Rs446billion to Rs275billion.Speaking on the floor, Hina noted that the terror war cost Rs110billion, while a power subsidy of Rs48billion has been imposed during the current fiscal year.Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Babar Awan told the assembly that NAB has so far detected the corruption of at least Rs2trillion since its establishment and also arrested 1,470 people accused in those corruption cases. He further said that around 72 judges have been appointed in the year 2009-10.
