The other two judges also left the room following the announcement.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Justice Faisal Arab has excused himself from hearing high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf on Thursday.
The other two judges, Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali Khan, also left the room after the head of the judge bench refused to hear the case proceeding.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab heard the treason allegations levelled against the former military ruler on Thursday.
As soon as the hearing began, Justice Faisal Arab said that he will not be able to hold the hearing if the current way of arguing was not changed. Later, the judge formally excused from hearing the case.
Commenting over the decision of Justice Faisal Arab, one of the lawyers presenting Musharraf Anwar Mansoor said that it was his discretionary power, saying that the legal team has done nothing in this regard.
Earlier, Anwar Mansoor also said that Musharraf client has never refused to appear before court, adding that the non-bailable arrest warrants was a wrong decision.
Another lawyer Ahmed Raza Kasuri said certain elements were working on an agenda against Musharraf.
