Muzaffargarh: Rape victim sets herself on fire after police release accused

Summary Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and sought report in 24 hours.

MUZAFFARGARH (Dunya News) – A woman set herself on fire after the gang rape accused were released after being cleared in police investigation.

According to Dunya News, five accused raped Amna Bibi, an 18-year-old resident of Bait Mir Hazar Khan on January 5. A case was registered in Bait Mir Hazar Khan Police Station and an accused Nadir Khan was also arrested.

Police declared the accused innocent in investigation after one month after which the disappointed rape victim, the intermediate student set herself on fire outside Bait Nir Hazar Khan Police Station.

Amina was shifted to Tehsil Heaquarter Hospital Jatoi but the doctors referred her to Nishtar Hospital Multan due to her critical condition.

According police, no evidence was found against the accused during the investigation after which he was declared innocent.

Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed District Police Officer (DPO) to submit the report within 24 hours.
