Samiul Haq summons scholars' session on Saturday
Govt committee member Rustam Shah said no group or organization will be assigned any territory.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Taliban committee patron Maulana Samiul Haq has summoned ‘scholars session’ in Lahore on February 15 comprising religious clerics from various schools of thought from across the country.
According to Dunya News reports, Maulana Samiul Haq will brief the scholars about the developments of talks with Taliban.
Meanwhile, government committee member Rustam Shah Mohmand has said that Taliban’s opposing factors want to fail the negotiations and the session that was scheduled for today will now take place tomorrow (Thursday).
Rustam Shah further said that Taliban have disowned the recent terrorist attacks and that those who oppose Taliban want the negotiation process to fail. Negotiation is a tough path, there will be many difficulties on the way; however the negotiations will take place within the bounds of constitution, he said.
No group or organization will be assigned any territory, neither the demand of implementation of governing system of any such group will be accepted, he added.
Mohmand further said that Taliban have agreed to the principled stand of ceasefire and that Taliban committee member Professor Ibrahim has expressed satisfaction over the process.
On the other hand, Taliban Shura has hinted the commitment of ‘any kind of flexibility’ for the success of negotiations, adding that the government should also demonstrate seriousness.
The postponed session scheduled for today will now take place tomorrow (Thursday).
