ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Supreme Court has stated that none of the Judges of the SC holds dual nationality.
According to the statement issued with reference media reports in respect of proceedings in the Senate regarding dual nationality of judges of the superior courts, the matter was discussed informally in the full court meeting wherein it was noticed that none of the judges of the SC holds dual nationality.
Constitution of Pakistan or the code of conduct for judges of the superior courts place no bar on judges hor having dual nationality, says the statement.
Earlier, Senate had unanimously passed a resolution recommending the government to publish the names of judges of the superior judiciary who have dual nationality.
Leader of the House Raja Zafar ul Haq said when the issue was raised in the past‚ the Supreme Court had informed that there was no ban on dual nationality of judges. Federal Shariat Court and Balochistan High Court had informed that none of their judges held dual nationality.
