NORTH WAZIRISTAN (Web Desk) - Pakistani military aircraft have bombed suspected militant hideouts in North Waziristan on Monday, Dunya News reported.

According to official sources, two alleged terrorists were killed and several others injured in the air strikes in Mir Ali area.

The air strikes in the tribal region took place a day after the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan reiterated its offer of talks with the government.

This was the second TTP offer for talks within a week and came after a spate of terrorist attacks across the country, followed by military action in North Waziristan.

Earlier on January 21, jets and helicopters bombarded suspected Taliban hideouts in North Waziristan and killed more than 40 alleged terrorists.

The operation was one of the heaviest bombardments in recent years in North Waziristan, a key stronghold of militants linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban.

Officials said some of those killed were linked to an attack on paramilitary troops in the northwestern city of Bannu that killed 26, and a double suicide bombing on a church in September that killed more than 80.
