Summary The government has started contacting political parties to discuss issue of Taliban talks.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan telephoned Jamaat-e-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hassan and discussed with him the overall situation in the country.
The JI chief said that there was no use of holding purposeless meetings and consultation regarding process of talkis with Taliban.
He said the government should take the political parties into confidence on the progress made in light of September 9 APC.
Munawar Hassan said his party is ready to discuss the issue if the government shows seriousness. He said operation should not be launched under any pressure.
The JI chief said that only the can resolve the matter in an effective way.
On this occasion, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the government was committed to adopt possible measures to curb terrorism.
He said that all decisions would be taken after due consultation with all political parties.
