KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pillion riding will remain banned for 12 hours on New Year s night in the city.
According to a notification issued by the home department, besides the ban on pillion ridding, driving motorbike without silencers are prohibited, while aerial firing, firework and carrying weapon have been banned for 12 hours from dusk to dawn on January 1.
Women, people with disabilities, journalists and children under the age of 12 are exempt from the ban.
Police had earlier finalised its security plan for New Year’s eve in the city and had asked the provincial government to ban pillion riding in the province.
