Karachi: Uzair Baloch's relative among six people gunned down

Summary The law enforcement agencies have failed to restore peace in Karachi.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - At least six people including brother-in-law of People’s Aman Committee leader Uzair Baloch were gunned down in Karachi while police rounded up over 12 suspects during operation in different areas of the metropolis.

Unknown militants opened firing on Rexer Bridge in Pak Colony early morning, killing six people on spot.

According to police, the victims were abducted and brought to Rexer Bridge.

The victims, aged between 17-28 years, were identified as Gulzar, Dilawar, Shahzad, Sajid, Rizwan and Aamir. The bodies were shifted to civil hospital where angry mob tortured hospital administration and reporters for media coverage.

According to police, the incident could be the result of ongoing clashes between Uzair Baloch and Baba Ladla group.

On the other hand, police arrested over 12 people accused of street crimes and smuggling during operation in different areas of Karachi.

The law enforcement agencies conducted a raid in Korangi, arresting two more people.

The arrested include Khurram alias Baba Balti and Azhar. Both the accused belonged to political parties, the police added.
