Summary The Election Commission of Pakistan has extended deadline for candidates to file nomination papers.
(Web Desk) - The Election Commission has extended the date for filing of nomination papers for local bodies polls in Punjab and Sindh by one day.
The decision was taken after various flaws emerged during the procedure.
Several candidates also raised objections that elections are being conducting in haste, whereas, two days are not enough to submit the nomination papers.
Now according to new deadline given by ECP, the candidates can submit their nomination papers till 4:00pm on Wednesday.
On the other hand, scrutiny of nomination papers in Balochistan could not start at time. The scruitny process was scheduled to be completed by November 11.
At least 2,074 candidates have filed their nomination papers for 7,189 seats in Balochistan.
