Pakistan and US have inked a $10.65million accord for the renovation of Tarbela Dam.US special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke said that US would give $4billion in 4 year period to help it surmount the energy crisis. The accord was signed by US ambassador W Anne Patterson and Secretary Economic Affairs Division Sibtain Fazal Haleem. Speaking on the occasion, Holbrooke said that US would also help Pakistan to renovate 11,000 old tube wells while Hillary Clinton would hold a strategic dialogue in the energy sector with Pakistan. He said that millions of Pakistanis were suffering due to the energy crisis. Holbrooke deplored over the anti-US sentiments being present in Pakistani media.
