Summary Only 18 weapons were voluntarily handed over during 15-day campaign in Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh provincial government has launched a campaign to clear Karachi of illegal weapons on September 27, asking people through the print and broadcast media to give up their illegal arms voluntarily.
Surprisingly, only 18 weapons were voluntarily handed over to police as the deadline expired on Saturday.
The illegal weapons were surrender at the Gulberg Police Station, Defence Police Station, Artillery Maidan Police Station, Guzri Police Station, Baghdadi Police Station, Mominabad Police Station, Azizabad Police Station, Jackson Police Station, Steel Town Police Station, Noor Jehan Police Station, Darakhshan Police Station and Bin Qasim Police Station.
The illegal weapons which were handed over to police included four rifels, five shotguns and seven pistols.
According to police, an operation will be launched soon against those who possess illegal arms.
