Summary Many doctors were abducted while 6, including President PMA, have been killed in 2 years.

QUETTA (Web Desk) - Increase in the incidents of doctors’ abduction for ransom has led many of senior doctors to migrate from Balochistan, while more are thinking to shift from the province.

A media report says provision of modern medical facilities and availability of specialist doctors was already a major problem in Balochistan, and now crisis has worsened in Quetta.

During last 2 years, several doctors have been abducted while 6 including provincial president of Pakistan Medical Association have been killed; all kidnapped doctors were released after the payment of their ransom money.

This situation has forced the doctors of the province to shift from here. Minimum 6 professors have left Balochistan till now and even some of them have left the country also.

Non-recovery of Dr Abdul Munaf Tareen and threats to other doctors in this regard has raised severe concerns in doctors associations. “If conducive environment is not provided to doctors they will shift from Balochistsan,” Chairman steering committee of PMA has said.
