Summary Sher says that 1700 megawatt of electricity has been added to the national grid.
MULTAN (Dunya News) - Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said government has taken various initiatives including Neelum-Jehlum Hydro Power Project and Jhimpir Wind Farm to control energy crisis in the country.
Addressing a news conference in Multan today‚ Abid Sher warned KESC to bear all the expenses of power theft in the metropolis or else government will cut power supply to Karachi.
He said the government was facing an annual power theft of Rs 242 billion, adding that the thieves take their weapons out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi when government takes action against them.
He said government cleared circular debt of 480 billion rupees in difficult circumstances while 1700 megawatt of electricity was added to the national grid.
The Minister of State said a forceful action will be taken against the power thieves.
