Summary Election Commission of Pakistan will inform SC that it was possible to hold polls in 2013.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to inform the Supreme Court that holding Local Bodies elections was not possible this year.
The Election Commission would submit a written reply in the Supreme Court within two days in this regard.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed all the four provinces to fix the date regarding LB polls, however, the provincial governments failed to finalize any date.
According to ECP sources, 90 days’ time was needed to hold the elections after completion of procedure by the provinces but the provincial governments could not complete the spadework due to which it was impossible to hold Local Bodies Elections this year.
