Bugti murder case: SC issues notice to Jamil Bugti
Former dictator Musharraf is being tried in many cases including Akbar Bugti murder case.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) The Supreme Court issued notice to Jamil Akbar Bugti with the direction to appear in the court for expression of his stance regarding case.
Two-member bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk conducted hearing of petition filed for interim bail of former military general Perves Musharraf and while passing his remarks said that the court is hearing a common case rather than a special personality. So the petitioner should appear in the court in person.
Former president’s lawyer Ibrahim Sati argued that courts have granted bails to his client in mostly cases on merit; there is no proper evidence against Musharraf in the Bugti murder case, so he should be granted bail accordingly.
On the other hand, Additional Prosecutor Balochistan said that the case has many legal and constitutional complicacies; so the petitioner of the case, Jamil Bugti, should be issued a notice.
While keeping in view the officer’s request, court issued notice to Akbar Bugti, the petitioner, with the direction to state his stance before the court in accordance with rules and regulations.
Next hearing of the case would be conducted after two weeks.
