Cop killed in attack, 31 suspects arrested in Rangers raids
Eight people including two police personnel were also injured in the grenade attack.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A police official was killed during an attack on Malir police station by assailants while more than 30 suspects were arrested during operation in different areas of the metropolis.
According to details, Rangers handed over three persons allegedly involved in drug smuggling and extortion to Malir City police.
One of the arrested suspects Naveed Baloch died in police custody on which angry mob attacked the police station with stones and ransacked the furniture.
While police was resorting to aerial firing to disperse the crowd, armed men hurled a grenade on police mobile and kidnapped the driver constable. Later, the gunmen threw constable’s body outside the station after shooting him in head.
Eight people including two police personnel were also injured in the attack.
Soon after the incident, the Rangers and police conducted a search operation in Aasu Goth, Malir, Murad Goth and adjoining areas and arrested 31 suspected persons.
According to police, huge cache of arms was also seized from the arrested.
